Worker’s Compensation Benefits, Loss of Function, Scarring, and Mental Health with Attorney Robert L. Noa – Part Four

Attorney Robert L. Noa, co-host of “Talking about the Law,” focused on the nature and extent of compensability for mental health injuries on June 30, 2013. Attorney Noa touched upon two components or circumstances that affect mental health and compensability. The first component is a severe physical injury that leads to a long-term disability and leads to develop mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. This can be compensable. The second component is an event or series of events that occur in the workplace that bring about mental health complications; for example a cashier at a convenience store who is robbed at gunpoint, even if he incurred no physical injuries, he may still be compensated for mental health related injuries that stem from the event. For the past five years, “Talking about the Law” has been sponsored by co-host Attorney Robert H. Flynn of Flynn Law Firm P.C.
