Fundamental Worker’s Compensation Rights and Mental Health with Attorney Robert L. Noa – Part Two

Attorney Robert L. Noa, co-host of “Talking about the Law” led a conversation on Sunday June 2, 2013 on WCRN 830 AM Radio. His discussion focuses on benefit reviews and their basic fundamental rights as well as mental health disability claims. “Talking about the Law” was created by Attorney Robert Flynn, a Framingham personal injury accident attorney to deepen the public’s perception of legal issues in their lives.

Attorney Noa’s second segment of the show focuses on worker’s compensation. Partial disability is an option for worker’s compensation as well as full disability. When you combine the total disability for three years or the total disability for five years, you cannot have over seven years of coverage to work on a recovery. The final benefit is called permanent and total compensation, which is compensation for the individual who has received a severe injury where there is no realistic way for the person to return to their work, even if there is a job that is less physically demanding. This is covered forever.

There is also a mental health component to worker’s compensation. This can be caused by a traumatic event at work. There could be a physical injury that leads to mental health injury. A basic back injury can lead to depression, lack of self-worth, and fear and anxiety about providing for their family or paying medical bills.
